Maratea, Italy welcomes 2nd Symposium on Biodegradable Metals
Welcome and Scope
Following the successful first Symposium on Degradable Metals in Biomedical Applications under the umbrella of THERMEC`2009, we happy to introduce and welcome you to the 2nd Symposium on Biodegradable Metals in Maratea, Italy. The symposium is characterized by its academic-conference-style with an openly discursive format, rather than a lecture and question–answer format. This style is completed by panel discussions at the end of each session. These panels will discuss open questions of the session topics, new approaches, background knowledge, and personal views among the presenters including strongly the participation of the audience. The panel discussions will be recorded, summarized and published as conference papers in an intended special issue. Furthermore, discussion tables at the poster session are focussing on specific topics and will invite the participants to raise critical questions or help each other advancing the field of biodegradable metals. Summaries of the discussion tables will be also published.
